How to Make Homemade Chocolate Birthday Cupcakes

Ingredients

Makes approximately 20 cupcakes.

  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flower
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 ½ cup of milk
  • 1/8 teaspoon of salt
  • 1 cup of unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 5 tablespoons of butter, softened
  • 1 ¾ cups of white sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ teaspoon of baking soda

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Line your cupcake pan with paper or tinfoil or paper liners.
  2. Gather two large bowls for mixing as well as your measuring spoons.
  3. In one large mixing bowl, mix together the baking powder, baking soda, flour, salt and cocoa. Set it aside for the moment.
  4. In another large mixing bowl, mix together butter and sugar until fluffy. Then you will add the vanilla, eggs and milk, mix well.

  7. Set aside to cool and frost.

  • ½ cup of butter

Instructions:

  1. In a large mixing bowl, mix together sugar and unsweetened cocoa powder.
  2. Add butter, vanilla and then gradually add milk while stirring until free of clumps with a fluffy texture.
  3. Set aside until ready to frost.
